Hello, Reclaimed !

Sometimes it’s easier, and even more accurate, to toss away your tape measure when laying out joinery for a furniture project. Learning how to use a story stick will help you avoid measurement errors and ensure precise repeatability when cutting furniture parts. In many cases, you can almost toss away your printed plans and lay out an entire piece of furniture – joinery and all – on a single piece of wood. In this video, Bob Van Dyke demonstrates how to use a story stick to accurately repeat cuts and map out all the measurements necessary to bring your piece to life. Measure once and cut 100 times!

Bob will be a featured presenter at Fine Woodworking Live 2019, at the Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center in Southbridge, Mass., the weekend of April 26-28.Over the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from many woodworking masters. We’ve put together a full program of classroom instruction and technique demonstrations to help you expand your skills. Sign up now - tickets are going fast.
