A mitered box is a fun project that allows you to be creative, while building something small and functional. Unfortunately, miters alone aren't very strong, and it's best to reinforce them using splines. But what if splines don't fit with the visual aesthetic you're going for? Hidden splines offer the best of both worlds, giving super-strength to mitered box joints, while remaining totally invisible.

In this free video from Doug Stowe's Basic Box-Making video workshop, learn how to build a simple jig that easily handles this often tricky task.
