VIDEO         PLANS & PROJECTS        HOW-TO         WORKSHOP         TOOL GUIDE
In this premiere episode of Public Television's Rough Cut with Fine Woodworking, host Tom McLaughlin builds a classic Shaker-inspired hall table. Made of cherry, the piece features iconic Shaker details, such as mortise-and-tenon joinery with wooden pegs for strength and looks, and elegantly tapered legs to give the table a slender appearance. Simple to make and at home in any décor, this piece is sure to inspire.

This year, Tom will be at Fine Woodworking Live demonstrating his class on Grain Graphics. Learn how wood grain can be used to enhance the visual impact of your projects. Tom will discuss various ways of handling and thinking about wood grain that will bring your work to a new level. Photo examples and technique demonstrations will be included while the class explores creative directions using solid wood, veneers, and several finish treatments.
