VIDEO         PLANS & PROJECTS        HOW-TO         WORKSHOP         TOOL GUIDE

Video: Squeeze your way to a perfect tenon

Using tools usually relegated to firewood preparation, David Fisher starts with a log and turns it into a bowl that’s refined and beautiful. Known as one of the masters of bowl carving in the greenwood movement, David has carved hundreds of them—and in this short video you will see a beautiful bowl come to life in three minutes.

This year, Dave will be at Fine Woodworking Live demonstating his Bowl Carving techniques. Dave has been finding inspiration in the woods around his home in western Pennsylvania since he was a boy. About 15 years ago, he began to apply his woodworking and carving skills to green wood. Using traditional edge tools, he carves green logs and branches into bowls, spoons, and other sculptural forms, often enhanced with carved lettering.

To watch every step of the bowl carving process check out the video workshop and register for FineWoodworkingLive to see it in person!
