| Streamlined Regs More Industry-Friendly |

| The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources announce an effort to harmonize the Crown Forest Sustainability Act and the Endangered Species Act in order to eliminate duplication and reduce bureaucratic red tape. The new regulations, hailed as industry friendly, were instituted on the recommendations of a stakeholder panel last winter. More on this story is available in today's Enviro & Legislation category

| Lumber futures pulled back Monday after last week's rally on profit taking long liquidation and selling premiums against cash positions. Both the "spot" July and the lead September contracts gapped open lower but filled the gap on speculative short covering in early trade. However, the bearish open continued to lend overhead pressure through the session.
