| June's Lumber Prices Down From May |

| Lumber prices, so confident in their growth of recent months, appear to have hit a snag in June, when they declined by about 25% from their highs in May. Industry observers speculate that slight decline could be due to an upsurge in supplies as well as decreased buying from China. For more on this story, please see today's Industry News for more.

| Lumber futures closed mixed in light holiday trade. Fairly balanced two sided positioning into the weekend with featured spreading in the "spot" July contract occupied most of the day session. The July September traded nearly 65 times of the 113 July trades between $3.60 and $5.00 ending at $4.70 off the settlements. July closed at $304.80 slipping $.40 but the lead September contract picked up $1.60 to $309.50 while the rest of the months were unchanged. ...Click here to read the rest of this article. |
