| Southwest OR: Last Sawmill in County Closes |

| Citing a lack of logs but not customers, Rough & Ready Lumber in Josephine County will close next week. Jennifer Phillippi, one of three co-owners, said the problem at the 85 job mill specializing in appearance-grade lumber wasn't demand. "We have customers who are dying for it," she said. | Lumber futures closed slightly higher on light volume trade. Many Canadian Producers and wholesalers were either closed or short staffed in observance of Victoria Day in Canada. The market opened steady to higher and moved up on mixed buying. Profit taking short covering and technical buying on diverging indicators took lumber up into the mid layer of chart related resistance.
