| Province Promotes Wood in Construction |

| Quebec has joined BC in calling for a rethink on the traditional steel and concrete construction standards in place across Canada. The move is seen as an economic stimulus aimed at saving jobs. BC, the leader in efforts to promote the use of wood, has had specific legislation in place since 2009. More on this story is available on today's Industry news category.

| Lumber futures closed down after breaking the key 200 day moving average in the front May contract of $345.80. Prices were flat to lower in the after-hours following the bearish start to the week. Wide spread long liquidation featured in the now front "spot" May contract continued to weigh on the market as well as fund rolling selling May buying July. The majority of the May's volume was consumed by the spread which traded over 370 times from $3.20 to $5.80 settling at $5.00 off the close. ...Click here to read the rest of this article. |
