| 9th Circuit: Logging Plan 'Improper' |
|
A Seattle panel of judges called a logging plan for old growth forests in the Pacific Northwest 'improper' on Thursday on the basis the plan attempts to amend an agency rule without following proper channels.

Lumber futures continued lower filling the gap left from the open on February 1st at $352.70. Prices were up in the after-hours market on profit short covering with some technical buying on oversold indicators. However lower cash quotes and slow demand in the field weighed on the market.
